Notes about the Model:  The hull was started in 2013 after having Ron Daum double check the drawings making a few changes th the design. after two years I finally found enought time to get it finished. the hull touched the water for the first time at the Champion Spark Plug Regatta.

Notes about the Real Boat: Built by Dan Arena in 1951 for Joe Schoenith. It raced as U-51 Gale 2 from 1951 to 1953, driven by Lee Schoenith and Danny Foster. The real boat won the Silver cup twice then was sold to Chuck Doran and Marv Henrich in 1954 where she was renamed the U-23 Wha Hoppen Too. The Wha Hoppen Too ran from 1954 to 1957. In 1956 she was sold to Chester Bourne from Buffalo NY. By this time the U-23 was painted all white with a red circle and question mark on the tail fin. It last raced in the 1957 Buffalo Launch Club Regatta where it caught fire in the first heat and burned to the waterline. Marv Henrich was at the wheel. Other drivers like Bob Schroeder in the Wildroot Charlie, tried to douse the flames with their roostertails. In all, Wha Hoppen Too entered 15 races with drivers Marv Henrich, Lee Schoenith, Walt Kade and Danny Foster. Bill Stroh also drove it in the second and third heats of the 1955 Maple Leaf Trophy race in Windsor, Ontario, finishing fifth.
