Notes about the Real Boat: The original Miss Thriftway in 1955, driven by the famous Bill Muncey.Should have won the 1955 Gold Cup in Seattle but lost to the Gale V due to elapsed time bonus points awarded to the Gale. Muncey would easily have won the Cup, but he backed off the throttle being so far ahead of the Gale. Unfortunately, it was a pints race.In 1956, Muncey was in a battle to the death with the Miss Pepsi on the Detroit river. In the end, Muncey and Thriftway finished in front, but it Took 90 days to award him the Cup. The Pepsi contingent claimed Thriftway destroyed a buoy. It went to court and it was determined that Pepsi did it and Miss Thriftway was finally awarded the Gold Cup.

Notes about 2016: Raced very little due to driver's health issues.
