Notes about the Model: The hull was designed by Les Ruggles in 1980s for Dallas Cook's Miss Pay 'n Save as a 1/8 gas boat. In 2013 Brian Buaas helped me make the plug and mold for the drop sponson hulls in 1/10 size.
Notes about the Real Boat: The Supertest II was make with a full deck. In testing at a race it hit a wake and damaged a sponson and rebuilt as a drop sponson. At the Silver Cup in Detroit the hull flipped killing the driver Bob Hayward. The hull was not rebuilt and Supertest racing dropped out of the sport.
Notes about 2015: Brian Buaas took Supertest II to the straight line and set the vintage record for NAMBA at 63+ mph.
