Notes about the Model: The 1974 Miss U.S. ran off and on in E-RCU and Classic Thunder from 2008 onward to about 2010. It spent most of its career as a part of the Bob VadenAkker collection. Bob sold the the hull to Chuck Murray in 2017 who promptly sold it to Gerald Bordon. Bordon campaigned the hull in the last part of the 2017 season.
Notes about the Real Boat: Started her career at the 1974 Gar Wood Memorial Regatta in Detroit. She was very fast and a tough contender for the Pay n Pak and Miss Budweiser and turned in the initial fastest lap time. She was unable to start in the final championship heat because of a broken throttle linkage.
Notes about 2018: The U.S. has some handling and propeller problems in 2017, but after some trial and error She became competitive enough to finsh second in the 2017 Gold Cup.
