Due to the forecast of potential for winter weather that could include snow and cold temperatures on Sunday, Feb. 2, the ERCU Board of Directors has decided to postpone the trailer cleanup that was planned for that day. We’ll look for a date in late February or March to potentially do the cleanup work.
Despite that postponement, the planned Winter Meeting will still happen, albeit on Zoom rather than in person. Click here to attend the Winter Meeting at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2, on Zoom. An agenda for the meeting can be found by clicking here. In-Person Winter Meeting, trailer cleanup scheduled
The awaited next In-Person Winter Meeting has finally been scheduled. Due to numerous other commitments in January, scheduling of a meeting in the first month of the new year became difficult. The important part, however, is that it’s finally set for 10 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 2 at the home of Dennis Caines in Tumwater. We’ll conduct a brief member and board meeting to be followed by a trailer cleanup and reorganization. Dennis will then grill hot dogs for all in attendance before breaking to head home. The trailer needs to be organized, swept out and equipment inspected, inventoried and potentially repaired. We’re also looking into new graphics for the outside. Registration Reminder A friendly reminder that if you haven’t yet renewed your membership and boat registrations for the 2025 ERCU season, now is a great time to do that. Registrations officially expired on January 2, 2025, and all unregistered boats are now available for others to claim. The period of reservation of registrations ran November 1 through January 1. There are a number of easy ways to register boats and renew your registration and the club’s registration form must be completed and submitted to Jim McKeon, and you can make your payment via PayPal. A fillable online form for registration can be found here. Once submitted, this form will go directly to Jim via email. A more traditional paper form can also be downloaded and mailed to Jim with a check. Click here for that form. DCR Coffee Commits to another year of supporting ERCU David Heilbrunn reports that DCR Coffee has committed to re-upping its support of ERCU for another season. This means the Official Coffee Company of ERCU will be providing coffee and sugar for all 12 events in the 2025 season. Many thanks to David for making this happen. 2025 Schedule is mostly confirmed Ten of 12 races on the 2025 ERCU Championship Series have been confirmed, with just the Twin Lakes races yet to be finalized. Race Coordinator David Heilbrunn is confident the remaining two races will be confirmed on the dates set. In 2025, we’ll race three times in Lacey, twice in Marysville and Elma and once each in Toledo, Longview, Lakewood, Tumwater and Ellensburg. We also have a test & tune on March 15 in Toledo. The season opens with the Champion Spark Plug Regatta March 29 in Elma. Reminder to renew NAMBA membership If you’ve not yet renewed your NAMBA membership, now’s a good time.
