ERCU Triple Crown Series

The ERCU Triple Crown Series was introduced to the club in 2020. Its intent is to drive more participation and create more interest in both 1/10-scale and 1/7 scale fast electric hydroplane racing. It gives participants at ERCU races just another chance to earn a championship at the end of the season, whether they win individual races or not.

Here's a little bit of information about what the ERCU Triple Crown Series is.

The Triple Crown Series is essentially a points race within the race event itself.

Each Triple Crown "event" is based on the points earned by every boat in the identified division/class at three different races throughout the season. The cumulative points earned during those races create the Triple Crown standings and the owner/driver/boat that earns the most points during the season will be wear the Triple Crown.

Boats in each division and class, with the most accumulated Triple Crown points during the season will be crowned the Triple Crown champions.
  • At races 1, 4 and 7, vintage boats will run for the Triple Crown.
  • Classic boats will run for the Triple Crown at races 2, 5 and 8.
  • Modern hulls will compete for the Triple Crown at races 3, 6 and 10.
  • There will be no Triple Crown racing at the ERCU Gold Cup.
