Notes about the Model: Originally build as Robbie Roberts Shanty I. Converted to Miss Thriftway.

Notes about the Real Boat: Built in 1955. Narrowly lost the Gold Cup in 1955 on Lake Washington to Gale V. The Gale had bonus points on elapsed time that gave it the win but the Thriftway was clearly the superior boat but Bill Muncey slowed down in the final awarding the bonus points to the Gale. This was the Miss Thriftway’s first race and a heart breaker to all Seattleites. The Thriftway won the 1956 Gold Cup in Detroit, another disputed race, this time with the Miss Pepsi. The boat had a short life and was destroyed in 1957 nearly killing Bill Muncey.
