Notes about the Model: Originally built by Jeff Howard, noted Classic Thunder competitor, as Scooter Too. Acquired by Jim
Latimer in 2019 and completely rebuilt to campaign in ERCU as Miss Moses Lake.
Notes about the Real Boat: Built in 1955 by Bart Carter and Jack Regas for Henry Kaiser as Scooter Too. She featured a very rare
W-24 Allison engine developing well over 3,000 raw horsepower. Torque issues, propeller failures, and plain bad racing luck led her to become known as the "Submarine" after sinking several times before Kaiser gave up on her. She was sold to Stan Adams in 1957 who campaigned her as Tri-Tomic and later Adios. Later, Adams parted ways with her when the hull was purchased by George Gilham. She raced in '58 as Adios until she found sponsorship from the Moses Lake Boat Club, and it was off to the Sahara Cup where she finished 3rd place in her one and only appearance as the Miss Moses Lake with Norm Evans behind the wheel. She adorned the pole at the entrance to Columbia Park in Kennewick for many years as Miss Tri-Cities!
Notes about 2021: In her only appearance at the ERCU Gold Cup in Lacey, she won the Second Consolation heat, and
advanced to the First Consolation. Alas, a worn out steering servo ended her day.
