Notes about the Real Boat: Another proud built and prepared to perfection hull, this Canadian teams example from the Supertest boat shop was no exception to strong performance. As the boat was very fast and being “dialed in” disaster struck as it’s very popular and beloved national hero driver Bob Hayward was thrown from this boat in heat race action on the Detroit River and died. The Canadian Team was devastated as was the Nation. The team would never complete again.
