Notes about the Model: Craig Bradshaw built the boat in 2013 for Kirk Pagel. The boat competed three seasons in ERCU, driven by Craig and Walter Roberts IV including 2nd place finishes at the 2015 Diamond Cup and the Roger Newton Memorial. Dead Guy Racing bought the boat after the 2015 season and Subsonic Speed Shop is installing their prototype Straight EXit drive system and vintage rudder.

Notes about the Real Boat: In 1969, Joe Schoenith and Gale Enterprises secured the Schweppes sponsorship for their boat that ran previously as U-44 Gale’s Roostertail. The sunshine yellow U-5 Miss Schweppes appeared in only one race, the Detroit World’s Championship, and Fearless Fred Alter finished on the podium.

Notes about 2016: The plan is to use this boat as a platform for development of vintage parts. If all goes well, the boat will race at selected events.
