Board adopts updated Covid Precaution Guidelines

On Sunday, May 30, the ERCU Board of Directors voted unanimously to approve the following updated Covid Precaution Guidelines for all ERCU events during the 2021 racing season. This update comes as a result of a) studying the new state and CDC guidelines; b) a vote of the members who participated in the President's Cup on May 16 in Marysville; c) consideration of the number of members who are fully vaccinated; and d) a commonsense approach to updating the guidelines.

These updated guidelines are in effect immediately and will be observed beginning with the Detroit Memorial Regatta at Lake Sacajawea Park in Longview on Saturday, June 9, 2021.

The pandemic, as well as state and federal guidelines, will continue to be monitored by the Board of Directors and these guidelines are - as they have been since March 2020 - subject to change at any time, depending on conditions.

2021 ERCU Covid Precaution Guidelines
(Updated 05/30/21)

• If a anyone planning to attend the event (member, guest, family member, etc.) is not feeling well or has a fever, that person must not attend the event

 

• In accordance with Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, ERCU members and guests who are FULLY VACCINATED may choose to not wear facial coverings while outdoors at the event. Physical distancing is still strongly encouraged as much as possible
  • This will be on the honor system: ERCU will not request proof of vaccination.
  • Those not fully vaccinated shall continue to use facial coverings

 

• Until physical distancing is no longer required, ERCU will NOT use its scaffolding for an elevated drivers stand, and all drivers will control their boats from the ground

 

• Each club member should sanitize common surfaces, computers, printers, hand-held radios, microphone, other common equipment, etc., before they leave a workstation. Sanitizing supplies are provided by ERCU and are available at the scoring table

 

• All participants should supply hand sanitizer or wipes in their pit area for their own personal use

 

• Physical distancing practices will be required at ERCU events until the state of Washington provides the “all-clear” from Covid precautions
  • Pit canopies and tables should be set up no less than 6 feet from the next one
  • Five boat heats will be allowed, with appropriate physical distancing set in the driving area

 

• While handling boats, all ERCU members shall take personally preferred proper precautions to stay safe and healthy

 

• Handwashing – to the best extent possible – shall take place using soap and water when available
  • The club provides hand sanitizer and wipes for members to use for hand-cleaning at the scoring table

 

• Sanitizing surfaces and club equipment will be required regularly throughout the day

 

• Season points will be accumulated, as usual, at every race during the 2021 Racing Season

 

• The ERCU Triple Crown Series will be conducted in accordance with the approved format

 

• Adjustments to this plan will be made according to ongoing pandemic conditions
